COVID Doodle Quilt

Peggy Sattler's avatar Peggy Sattler

This quilted wall hanging (63" x 54") is constructed to commemorate the COVID pandemic, and Michigan's efforts to fight the virus and save lives. It contains 1930's reproduction fabrics (pulled from my stash of remnants, as we are all making do), vintage flour sacks (Pla-Safe Flour;" "No Risk") handed down in the family, small attached masks, and slogans, such as "Namaste Six Feet Away," "Don't Be Nosey," "Look Out For Each Other," and others. It is a 'doodle' since friendship stars and other blocks were added as the quilt grew, rather than following an organized design. It is intended to express hope, humor and optimism in a very difficult time, with a need for unity of us all.
