“Reclaimed: The Four Seasons” Pigment and water are fluids that can transform a landscape in a matter of seconds; we strive to convey that sense of transformation by bringing objects from nature into our artwork. While we make no attempt to portray actual environments or landscapes, we do want our work to appear as if they could exist. By positioning the figure with objects from the natural world, our work serves to remind the viewer to reconnect with their surroundings. As we decontextualize and reconstruct the subject, we allow the flow of paint guide our imagination into these surrealistic works. Heather and I created this four-part piece to represent the four seasons of the year and portray the beauty of the inner self as it appears in each season. Our goal is to inspire the viewer to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in unusual places and within themselves.
