Resurgence, Remnants, and Preservation

Three sculptures are included in this installation series. Conceptually, I use string manipulation to show social communication or the lack of, cutting ties, or reconstruction. Larger in size, these sculptures alter viewer pathways and activate the surrounding spaces. "Resurgence" - A sculpture representing the classical ways of learning and their influence on the mass production in sewing today. 85" W x 65" H x 48" D "Preservation" - A hand-crafted 3D ceramic sculpture featuring colors specifically chosen to create a vibrant transition. These “spools” were created using casting slip and twine. 36" W x 36" H x 2" D "Remnants" - Printmaking installation that brings a traditionally 2D process into the 3D sculpture world. The scale, the fleshy tones of ink, and the position of the piece in the room all work together to form a figurative object. 189" W x 75" H
