Pandemic Spring/ Masked Up

Holly Uecker-Herman's avatar Holly Uecker-Herman

Imprisoned by the COVID pandemic, this painting illustrates masked out vertical lines as in a prison cell. The underlying painting of black, white, and red represent the dismal endurance of the restrictions created by the pandemic. The overlying areas of this painting represents spring and a new hope for the return to normalcy as we know it. Just as the season of spring renews the earth from its winter slumber, the masked out arcs and circles represent a somewhat ripple effect of positive hope in elimination of the pandemic.
