Recycle Trans

Jerry Cartwright's avatar Jerry Cartwright

Having lost both my parents at 5 years of age and placed in a orphanage, I felt abandoned, thrown away and discarded. However over time people came into my life understood my pain and despair and gave me a sense of hope and belonging. What am I doing now? I’m an abstract and assemblage artist. I find abandoned and discarded objects and bring them together and give them new purpose and meaning as art. Recycle Trans represents all marginalized populations in the world who feel abandoned, discarded and forgotten. But when valued and respected the world is a richer place. 95% of the objects on this art piece where found on my early morning walks and represent the beauty and redemptive qualities in everything and every person. May we all remember that all people regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity & sexual orientation etc. have value & redemptive qualities. May we all embrace each other with love & understanding.
