Beacon of the Desert

Chasing camels in the desert was one of my favorite past times while growing up in the Middle East; thus, I developed whimsical connections with these marvelous creatures. Camels bring hope to their masters and caravans just like the hope ship captains have when they see a lighthouse from ashore. I have called this light, "Beacon of the Desert." It is a metaphor of hope to a safe passage from dangerous and hazardous life extremities and difficulties. Camels can survive the harsh desert environment in spite of heavy loads on their backs. May they be a source of inspiration to all of us that we, too, can survive the heavy load of life in this harsh environment by God's free grace, our Light in a dark world.
