My work explores two main themes: 1) Exploring randomness and 2) Our relationship with data. My full artist statement can be read here: https://statsinthewild.com/art/artist-statement/ American Money This series of three pieces called is based on data from the United States Census 2015 American Community Survey (ACS) and shows the relationship between income per capita and race in America. Each image is the result of an overfit regression tree with the color of each rectangle related to the rank of income per capita (with darker colors related to lower ranked per capita income and lighter colors related to higher ranked per capita income). Census tracts with high percentages of white Americans appear to the right of each image whereas the vertical values are the percentage of different minorities in census tracts. Cheers, Greg
