To Advance God's Kingdom(Rose Colored Glasses)

Brian Lacey's avatar Brian Lacey

By utilizing symbolism and abstractions I seek to celebrate Grand Rapid's and Western Michigan's rich history of arts, crafts and design and the important role public education plays in furthering the advancement of such disciplines. By objectifying the factors and those who purposefully seek to dismantle the institutes responsible for our future, I seek to create a dialogue with the public that will elicit more critical thought and consideration twoards the preservation of such institutes. Furthermore, the imagery used in partnership with the surface – a Corten shipping container will bring into question the larger role that consumerism plays in each of our lives.
