For my 5th years entry I am trying something different artwise but with my usual subject matter, African wildlife. Earlier this year I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the world famous Kruger National Park in South Africa. There we saw living masterpieces in the form of huge male elephants with massive tusks called "Tuskers" Kruger has a long history of these incredible animals and with conservation they have been able to protect them allowing them to age naturally. An elephants life span is anywhere from 30 to 60 years old in the wild the longer the tusks the older the elephants. This year I wanted to highlight these living treasures as last year it was about the young and orphaned. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the waterhole and the Kruger Tusker. It is painted on 100% cotton canvas in acrylic paints sourced from South Africa made in Cape Town. (the reference photos used were my own)
