Peace Like a River

Kim Williams's avatar Kim Williams

Peace Like a River is a collection of over 135 individual acrylic and mixed media paintings hung salon-style and was developed from a concern that so much of the current human experience is strife, turmoil, political and natural upheaval. When viewed from a distance, this exhibit will expose the viewer to a peaceful river scene. But when experienced from a closer vantage point they will discover unexpected little surprises - a girl's face helping to form the back of a Heron's wing - small vials holding water from various rivers and lakes - vintage papers and ephemera inspirationally placed on specific art. Most of the collection is comprised of 8-inch x 8-inch gallery-wrapped stand-alone paintings with the subject matter rooted in nature and realistic in style. Ultimately the viewer will be brought to a place they can experience a peaceful heart ... if only for the time they spend in front of the wall discovering a new favorite creature, thought or personal inspiration.
