50 States: Veterans + Artists United

Has Heart

The HERO[series] partners a Veteran with an artist for the shared mission to tell their story through the mediums of art, design, & fashion. Having conducting annual projects in Michigan over the past five years, Grand Rapids-based NPO, [HAS HEART] decided the best way to impact more Veterans, creatives, and civilians would be to take the HERO[series] across the country themselves. Hitting the road in July 2017, two members of the [HAS HEART] team are living and working on the road traveling state-to-state to partner a Veteran with a designer in each location. Over a two-day creative process, [HAS HEART] is capturing the Veteran's story and documenting their collaborative creative process as they progress towards their final design and message. Each project yields a t-shirt design, an embroidered patch, photos, short-form documentary video, and a written story. [HAS HEART] is nearly half-way through the tour and have released a handful of finished projects to be featured at ArtPrize.
