Michigan’s Living Treasure

The animals we see in Michigan are a treasure that we all enjoy. The many student artists created this using recycled magazines which were torn into thousands of small pieces and applied one at a time to create a collage depicting a Michigan winter forest. Our message is that we chould respect and care for these animals that we treasure.

About Innocademy

Our entire student body contributed to creating this collage. PreK through 8ith graders ripped apart magazines, sorting colors into various values. Each grade was responsible for a color. Middle school students worked individually and as mentors to help the younger students apply the small pieces using acrylic medium. Parents also were invited to help with the youngest students. Every day students worked on this project during class and some even came back to help during recess. There is great pride among our staff and students and this is still a work in progress until the end of the school year.
