I have always struggled with the fact that I was different. Growing up, Art was defined to me as being able to take photographs of sunsets and beaches, to be able to draw life-like portraits. When I couldn't do that, I felt that I could never be an Artist. I felt the need to create so strongly, but was never able to fit neatly into the "Artist Box" that I saw all around me. A long journey, and some relationships with very wise people have helped me learn to embrace that which makes me different. I have created these pieces to signify my journey and struggle to find myself, instead of trying to hide the fact that I find beauty in things others often don't, I celebrate these things. Textures, colors, thoughts, and ideas that are a part of my past, that speak to me and inspire me to be honest and true to myself I proudly display as the source of my power and vision as an Artist.
