Scrap Arc Designs- “Geartar”

All of my work begins by hunting for what I call - those "special' steel parts. Each piece for each guitar is carefully picked and placed to create a visually appealing affect. All of the parts are cleaned of any rust or oil. After I am satisfied with the layout of the parts in the body, they are welded into place. The sheet metal areas are all hand cut and shaped to give a realistic and accurate look to the specific model of the guitar. The sheet metal is also sanded to make the steel even brighter. It is then welded into place. Once all parts are affixed, then the entire guitar gets cleaned with a wire brush to remove any slag or stains. After this tedious process is complete, it is cleaned with an even finer brush to bring out the small details in the metal. Then finally it is sprayed with a weather proof and rust proof clear coat to seal in all the nice shine. Each of these large scale guitars take dozens of hours to complete, but each one is a unique one-of-a-kind work of art!
