A Day's Work

I am a beekeeper, an encaustic artist (beeswax is my medium) and a photographer. I became a beekeeper 8 years ago because I heard about the demise of the bees and I wanted to help save them. Since then I have grown to love bees and I have learned an enormous amount about these amazing creatures. This painting is a combination of my photography and my encaustic art. It depicts bees leaving from an antique skep to do a day's work of gathering pollen and nectar, something that is vital to our very existence on this earth!
