A Different Life

Kevin O'Connell's avatar Kevin O'Connell

This is a series of nine fine art street images I took for the past 20 years. Portrayed are the stories through the emotions and facial expressions of homeless and recluse people that live on the streets of Chicago. The men and women I photograph have very interesting lives and stories to tell and I know most of them on a personal basis over the years. From these nine portraits A man who is dying of cancer but still smiles A man who makes his own musical instruments from things he finds on the streets A homeless vet in extreme mental pain A man who lost his leg and given a mink coat by a passer by A young man who cant hold back hi tears A man that is afraid to sleep at night because of the thieves and malicious A man who dresses as Spiderman to make ends meet Another vet confined to a wheelchair trying to survive An older man who has given up on life
