This site-specific installation is inspired by the interconnectedness of watersheds and the capillary action of soil. The hand cut Tyvek and paper is a playful arrangement of suspended dials and wall mounted pods. Using a methodical way of hand cutting that fascinated the Victorians in the nineteenth century, I've produced a porous textured material that mimics the porosity of groundwater deposits. Their colors, red, yellow, gray and green, are the colors used by hydro geologists to color code soil samples of clay, gravel, sand, and silt. The size is variable and site-specific.
