Sleepless Vigilance

Donna Mitchell-Collins's avatar Donna Mitchell-Collins

"The battle, Sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. . . " These famous words of Patrick Henry forever shaped our country into the land we hold so dear. For this year's ArtPrize piece I wanted a strong image of vigilant strength. I chose an eagle to remind us that even though the world is filled with opposition and division, we can stand vigilant in our faith, in our homes, and in our communities. I dedicate this year's woodcut to all the brave men and women who have been on the front line to restore order and peace to our country. We are forever grateful for your vigilance, strength, courage, and sacrifice.
