Pristine Waters

Ted Borgeld's avatar Ted Borgeld

This sculpture is impressionistic realism 3D historical wood carving. It reflects a time in Michigan's past when rivers were inhabited by indigenous fish populations including grayling and brook trout as well as forage minnows, sculpin, dace and darters. Specimens are hand carved and painted with thinned oils allowing some transparency and visibility of wood grain. There is focus on motion and color.
