Afternoon in the Park V

Konstantin Savchenko's avatar Konstantin Savchenko

Konstantin captivates his audience with eye-catching color and intriguing texture but attempts to take them a step further by playing upon their imagination. His artworks tell a story of self-discovery in nature, a surrounding that is inherently good and beautiful and balanced, and longing for autumn, a time imbued with romanticism and similarly –nostalgia. A common motif in Konstantin’s artwork is the incorporation of people –made small and almost irrelevant–within a landscape. It is a modern interpretation on the Romantic movement in literature and fine art in that it emphasizes man’s insignificance in the grand scope of the universe, while simultaneously giving us comfort and meaning within it–the same way that looking up into the vastness of the night sky can cause both discomfort and inexplicable peace.
