Imagine That

Jeff Grill's avatar Jeff Grill

"Imagine That" is a 3D wood sculpture that engages the observer to imagine that they are an astronomer that discovered the birth of a black hole. The narrative on the enclosure asks that while they observe the sculpture rotating in the rather dark star studded universe of the enclosure and the lighted sculpture they think about what they will name their discovery. The placards at the observation slots read.... "Imagine That" -Looking thru a telescope you see the birth of a black hole. -As you watch a small asteroid is drawn in and escapes thru the black hole. -Still watching, a small star is drawing in and is trapped. It doesn't collapse and is still emitting light. -As the discovering astronomer...you get to name the black hole for all eternity. Please add your name for the black hole to the outside of the enclosure.
