Reflections on Urban Life

Bob Bernstein's avatar Bob Bernstein

This montage of digitally enhanced photographs of distorted reflections in steel and glass skyscrapers explores the simultaneous beauty, chaos and isolation of the urban milieu; vibrancy, beauty and detachment in the midst of bedlam. The photographs are both a literal representation of the city and a metaphor for deeper thought and reflection. We have created urban environments that encourage looking down – watch where you step, watch out for traffic, watch where you are going. We can be alone in a city of millions, never looking up to see others or the vistas above.
