LUCiD - Every Second Breath

In our personal lives, we often only focus on what we need to do to survive. For so many years, looking in our personal world has been the survival strategy for billions of people on the planet. Our Oceans play a vital role in our survival as a species and through our passive actions, we are slowly killing ourselves. Every Second Breath that we breathe comes from the oceans. Whale poop feeds phytoplankton and those microscopic animals produce enough oxygen for us to sustain life here on this planet. LUCiD takes a new leap forward this year at ArtPrize in a time based installation. The artist will be on expedition this year in Tonga in search for pregnant humpback whales giving birth to their newborns. Each segment will be uploaded at different times during the duration of ArtPrize to keep audiences coming back for more. McKane believes that whales are the gateway drug to the ocean. McKane is currently seeking funding for the installation at ArtPrize.( http://paypal.me/jeremymckane )
