"Lies" is a break from my traditional nature pieces after having been deeply affected by the current political climate and its portrayal or women's roles in society. There are survivors of child abuse, domestic abuse, rape, rape culture, and I wanted to express something bold to speak out an call attention to a handful of the lies that some women are told. The mosiac-style piece is watercolor with a few digital elements, printed and cut into 320 pieces, and mounted induididually with care onto each glass tile, then covered in glaze. Some pieces are bolder, some subtle, and some contaun the various lies we've been told - and that some of us have believed. My contribution toward awareness and the empowerment of women is small, but it's a theme that needs attention. And it's a piece that comes straight from my heart. You can heal, and come back amazing. This piece is for sale. Profits will be donated to an organization for victims of abuse, to be closely coordinated with the buyer.
