I have been creating art on Etch A Sketch for over 20 years, and this is by far my most ambitious project to date. This series was over 4 years in the making. I first came up with the idea in 2012 and began planning it later in the year. As I began the project, I got overwhelmed and cast it aside, but I never forgot about it. 4 years later, I decided to revisit the concept. It turned out to be a good idea to wait all that time, because my skills were not as strong back then. This took over a month to plan and execute in full, and it is completely permanent. During the planning process, I completely reconfigured the composition so that I could incorporate a heart-shaped Etch A Sketch. Each Etch A Sketch took hours to create. I used only the two knobs to render each part of the skeletal form. I am honored to showcase it in its framed form for the very first time for ArtPrize9!
