Bee Aware...Bee The Change

Collins Elementary Vote Code: 65932

This artwork, created by the students and teachers at Collins Elementary was made with the purpose to help draw attention to the harm that is being done to bees in our environment. Each participating artist marbled paint on a piece of paper to create a similar background for their ink drawings of bees. All artists were guided through several different methods to create their bee drawing and some invented their own methods as well. Each drawing was cut into a hexagon and placed near another completed hexagon to represent the honeycomb within a hive. Multiple species of bees live socially in colonies. Bees have specific roles within their colony like the students, teachers, and staff have in our community at school. Without the help of bees, teachers, staff, or students, our colonies, communities, and environment cannot continue to grow and thrive.
