Water Stained

A fall afternoon, sunshine, blue sky and a dwindling creek were the ingredients for Water Stained. While walking a local nature trail, I stopped at a rock outcrop by a shallow creek. I was fascinated by the reflection of colors in the ripples. Color from the sky and the autumn leaves were occasionally highlighted by sun rays that broke through the dancing tree limbs. The flowing water would carry some fallen leaves for a distance and for some, the ripples would sink the leaf, adding more color, depth and texture to the scene. This particular photograph made me think of liquid stained glass.
