Metamorphosis, as my sculpture vision, brewed inside me for several years. After experiencing Katrina as a resident of New Orleans, followed by the BP oil spill tragedy, there was a pulling inward, a searching for the meaning for this deep sadness. The world was and is going thru crisis in many ways. I was witnessing and living this change. This sculpture is a metaphor for the metamorphosis I was living: the changing of one being to a new being. This was not an improved being but a new one. This was, as I experienced it, my personal metamorphosis.
