Breaking Free

Kimberly Gill's avatar Kimberly Gill

Sex Trafficking is a heinous, modern day form of slavery. The state department estimates there are 2,400 minors for sale at any given time right here in West Michigan. "Breaking Free" was created to bring attention to this deplorable crime that exists in our own backyard and to highlight organizations that are working to end sexual exploitation of young women and men in our community and beyond. Blue paint has been incorporated in the piece representing the color of Sexual Slavery and Human Trafficking Awareness. The painting depicts a young survivor emerging out of the bondage of darkness with the help of such organizations as the Manasseh Project of Wedgewood Christian Services and Shared Hope International. Please visit both websites to learn more about what you can do to help eradicate Sex Trafficking; manassehproject.org and sharedhope.org.
