The first time I walked to the edge of the Grand Canyon, I was rendered speechless. Those of you that know me know this was a miracle. As a photographer, it was a moment where I thought, "I can never capture this." Over the next few hours, I took several hundred pictures but was disappointed in my efforts. They did not adequately convey the "Grand" of the Grand Canyon. I decided to change my lens to an 8MM fish-eye lens and that made all of the difference! I came to a spot that had a fabulous vista, but to get the best picture, I had to lay on a rock outcropping and lean over the edge with my camera below me. Several thousand feet directly below was the canyon floor! I took several more pictures from this position. "As grand as it gets" is my entry this year. I hope you like it.
