“Original Man” Ojibwe Tribe of the Great Lakes called themselves Anishinaabe. Native Americans, my ancestors, became important to me once my Mother became active in Tribal meetings and talked about our Tribal connections. This as well as my wife’s interest in Genealogy inspired this painting. Native Americans resided in this land for thousands of years without significantly altering the landscape. For this we owe them and should learn by their example. The Ojibwe Tribe circled Lake Superior and down the coast of Lake Huron to Saginaw. Currently they range West to Minnesota, North Dakota and North in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. They are one of the largest tribes in North America.
