The Orchid Tree

The Orchid Tree is truly a unique creation. Built to fit into a corner of a room, it's back walls are 8 feet long. It stands 8 feet tall and it's base is rounded in front. This makes it approximately 12 feet across with a depth of 7 feet. It's trunk and branches are made out of 5-6 different real trees. They bear approximately 130 different clusters of life-like wild orchids from around the world. Among them you will find various butterflies, beetles and hummingbirds. All are hand made by the artist. Cut out with precision, formed into flowers and painted with pain-staking care, the flowers are truly realistic and that has been verified. It recently, unanimously, from 9 international judges, received the Award of Excellence at an Alberta orchid show. This tree gives re-cycling a brand new appearance as it is made from various types of discarded smooth sided cans with primers, acrylic paints, adhesives, bolts, etc..
