Prince Albert

Growing up I heard stories about, Prince Albert, the innocent practical joke and old prank phone call fondly remembered by my Dad. In this painting, Prince Albert, I'm interested in how technology is used and am fascinated that people use technology in ways the inventor most likely never imagined. People often chuckle remembering the innocent practical jokes people used to say before cell phones when they see my painting, Prince Albert. The images I paint are non-elitest, comforting and encourage seeing the beauty in the everyday. They represent a love of nature, manufactured designs and representational painting methods that come handed down from centuries of hard work training the eye to see. Academic painting involves accuracy in drawing from life (not using photos) while painting poetically and directly from nature with emphasis on light and composition. The results can be whimsical or profound, light or dark, simple or complex.
