Fibers of Life

This lifetime, this gift, is like a mere wisp of vapor that quickly vanishes according to James 4:14. Not one of us can reap peace through such trifling strength. Far beyond our snippet on history’s timeline, an everlasting purpose has been sown. As in a rope, no one strand carries all of the strength nor greater significance. Humanity’s intertwined experiences garner strength only through peace. From where, then, comes such inclination in our worldly wisdom to pit ones own strength against the band of humanity, to frivolously sacrifice eternal purpose in a breeze, and to gain what? A fleeting twenty or thirty more year wisps? The fibers of life are an illusive gift, when checked to see if it's sufficiently there, is gone. My passion for exploring a deeper perspective of life's truths comes through art, the Lord's Word, research writing, reflective observation as a mother, a teacher at Grand Rapids Public Schools, and an educational leadership doctoral candidate; but mostly just being.
