Looking Down on Chicago

Richard Adams's avatar Richard Adams

This painting was created when viewing the skyline of Chicago from one of her many tall buildings. Comments on this art work made by Shirley Woodson: "I just love this the way this artist painted. They painted every building. They seemed very excited and attached to the subject. There is a certain joy in this work, a nice quality that was a part of making this work. The light palette is what drew me to this and the various techniques they used and the view as if they are in yet a taller building. It's an exciting painting, very, very well done. And the artist took chances. Tried new things. Some of the buildings in shadow and some in full light. It's an exuberant way of painting. It's an admirable painting."
