Mother Earth

Scott Brazeau's avatar Scott Brazeau

Mother Earth is made out of fabricated steel sticks, has brass accents and stands 9 feet tall. This sculpture is meant to represent earth and the strength of women.. The steel sticks come together to form a strong steadfast structure. The brass leaves are our growing future. The flower is our offspring. The roots of the flower if nourished will grow big and strong. The figure grows out of the ground standing singular but not alone. Steel fabrication was use to create the sculpture. Traditional smithing skills were used to create brass accessories. I enjoyed transforming rigid materials into organic forms that look like elements that could be found in nature. Scott Brazeau has lived in Michigan all of his life and is married with two children. He has a Masters of Fine Arts Degree from Cranbrook Art Academy. scottbrazeau@gamil.com
