Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Somewhere Over the Rainbow is inspired by the significance of water on nearly every world culture, from the past as well as our lives today. My intention is to play with architectural space, using the dramatic height of the TowerPinkster lobby to emphasize the power and grandeur of water. Using a variety of color palettes, it is my desire to embrace the visitor in a sanctuary of water, with an intimate and close-up view. A waterfall chapel for contemplation. Suspended fabric panels encircle the space in a subtle but constant motion, while songs of birds are heard providing an additional ingredient, to celebrate the cleansing and transformational qualities of water. With the rhythm and repetition of imagery, a dreamlike state of mind is evoked. Whether by ship, aimlessly floating, drinking a glass of water, or bathing and diving into unknown depths, the very nature of water provides a voyage somewhere.
