These three works comprise the negative, self-deprecating half of Look At Me, a seven-piece body of work answering the two-fold, human question "Will they look at me?" Will they judge me? Will my faults ring clear? Will I fall short of their expectations? They’re staring at me, they’re looking through my cracks. They hate all of me. I feel constricted by their constant analysis. Is there a reason you’re after me with such violence? They want me gone. They want me dead. Every glance is a new judgement. And I’m the victim of it all. I can’t stand them. With each look the understanding falls apart. So I hate them and they hate me. This dynamic is infuriating. They’ll turn their heads, and examine my visage. And every time I’ll degrade more. Another piece of me is chipped away. I can no longer bear it. I’m a shell of myself that keeps crumbling. Run away. Fear my insufficiencies. I’m sick of it. I’m terrified of it. With all I have, I'm begging you. Don’t Look At Me.
