Bowed Heads Lift the Spirit

For several years now, I have been inspired by the beauty and miracle of sunflowers and I have found ways to use them in my artwork. Sunflowers can be a metaphor for life. Starting as a small seed, green leaves sprout and flowers bloom, seeking the Son. Eventually they are heavy with petals and seeds of their own. Dripping and melting faces, their heads bow. Old and wise they speak of glory days gone by. Foliage of last autumn becomes mulch from which new sunflowers grow. The seeds that I sow are the seeds of the new sunflowers that I now tend.
