"Ancient Dignity" was created to honor the bison (our official National Mammal) and the Ancient Copper Culture of Upper Michigan and Wisconsin. He is a hand-wrought copper assemblage adorned with raised patterns symbolizing the Iroquois "Great Law of Peace" wampum belt surrounding his chest and ankles, the Medicine Wheel at his hip, and the Thunders (Grandfathers) running down each leg. * 5 ft 6 in tall, 7 ft. 6 in long, and 3 ft 6 in wide and weighs 1,200 lbs. * 5,000 feet of 4g solid copper wire hair individually cut, welded, and styled * 1,800 hours cutting, hand pounding, welding, grinding and polishing * Mounted on industrial wheels which can be removed for permanent installation * Crane hook attachment under hidden trap door on head for lifting onto stone base * A 6 ft steel I-beam in his chest is part of the armature + honors the Iroquois iron workers
