Flare Gun (live)

In Tall Buildings

Chicago singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Erik Hall began In Tall Buildings in the early 2000s as a vehicle for the solo material he was writing between touring stints with other groups NOMO, His Name Is Alive, and, most recently, Wild Belle. His sophomore album, ‘Driver’, was released February, 2015 to high praise from the Chicago Tribune, SPIN, Paste, and the Wall Street Journal. In March of 2016, while in Austin, TX for the South By Southwest music conference, Erik dropped in to the Michigan House to record a stripped down version of his song "Flare Gun," heard here. “Wide-eyed and instantly likable...Driver is heavy on melodies and breezy in its effortlessness. It’s the kind of album that moves in different ways during different times and reveals aural layers on multiple listens.” -- PopMatters "Big-hearted, wistful, deftly arranged metropolitan pop." -- Stereogum
