Scheherazade’s Kaleidoscope is comprised of 11 panels of various widths that feature arch forms that originated in the East. Scheherazade, the legendary storyteller of "A Thousand and One Nights," conquered a king’s heart and healed his soul. The story of her bravery and the many colorful narratives embedded within that frame story (Aladdin, Sinbad, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, etc.) have been embraced by peoples around the world for centuries. This work considers the historical phenomena of Otherness and assimilation.
