Three Studio

V.I. explores identity, presence and permanence of our digital existence. Are we losing touch with our “true-self” as digital identities become more robust and ever changing? The introduction of social media in the early part of the 2010’s has given society new tools to curate their persona. From Facebook statuses to Instagram posts, we are constantly defining and redefining ourselves at an expanding and rapid pace. Through the use of digital technology and programming we look to investigate and better understand our “digital-self”. “Perhaps this is because the self is not ‘embodied’ online. Rather than being physically present within the self that is presenting identity, as we are offline, we are instead projecting ourselves onto a screen in what could be thought of as an out-of-body experience of self-reflection.” (Dyer, 2016)

About Three Studio

Three Studio is a collaboration by Nicholas Tisch and Will Olson. Through the use of technology and programming we investigate what life means in the 21st century. Since graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design we have been exploring these ideas and expanding our processes individually. V.I is our first collaborative art work.
