In this work I’ve begun to explore a conversation between two elements. They are separate but share a common ancestry in that they are both from the earth. The steel is highly refined whereas the rock remains unaltered by human processes. The rock is imprisoned within the steel structure in an inversion of form. There is no glorious mountain range untouched by human hands there is only the cold skeleton of steel clutching this rock in a failed attempt at replicating the beauty of the natural world.
