Jesus, Rescue Me

Carpenter's Cross

"Jesus, Rescue Me" was written for anyone who's ever felt overwhelmed by life, situations, or circumstances. It speaks to, and offers hope for, someone who cries out in despair "I can't do this on my own!" While the title and message of the song might suggest a dirge, a hymn, or even a light-hearted "pop" tune, the song is written in a definite southern rock/rockabilly style, with more than a few "southern-isms" (drawn from Dave's paternal roots) sprinkled throughout the lyrics. An admittedly faith-based rock anthem, the lyrics deal with the internal questioning of one's faith in the face of trials, hardships, and setbacks...and the assurance that one need not ever face them alone.
