Of all of the images that I have captured in the last couple years, these are my favorite. The painterly quality of these images is a result of the volatile process of reclaiming a negative from the usually discarded backing from Fuji-film FP 100-c instant film. These images have been exposed to the red African dust, blistering African sun, and a transcontinental journey of smashing and scraping against one another in a flimsy paper bag. I have chosen to display these beautiful landscapes on 44"x60" watercolor paper. I enjoy the analog capture and elements of chance that come with the processes I use when creating. Captured with a polaroid land camera, my entry consists of 8 color photographs taken during my time in South Africa this past year.
