The Gift-Givers

Kroeze Krew

The Gift-Givers is a set of three figures reminiscent of the Magi. In response to signs they observed in the heavens, their commitment to honor a new-born king led them to Bethlehem. Here, they presented gifts to The Child, the baby Jesus. The figures represent three ways in which we bring ourselves and our gifts before The King: (1) Bowing down as a sign of humility, submission and being overwhelmed by His presence, (2) Kneeling in a forthright, purposeful and formal way to give the gift that is rightly His to receive and, (3) Standing in joyful, energized and celebrative response to see Him and be in His presence. Each figure holds a candle, symbolizing the human spirit and the personal gifts we bring to honor and serve The One whom we worship.
