Grand daughter's Playhouse

Art is in the eye of the beholder! As a third generation union carpenter, I want to show people that what we do everyday is in fact art. I want to inspire more young people to see this Art, and aspire to learn to do the same. This is a house in every sense of the word, built at 80% scale so it is perfect for any grand child as a playhouse, or even a Writers retreat or an art studio. The lines, the texture, the details, and the construction all combine to please the eye, excite the imagination of young and old and hopefully inspire more young people to pursue this trade, either as an "artist" or as a career. The piece is big enough for a limited amount of walk through tours, and I am sure that the demand will be far greater than the time available. It is my hope to be able to match the demand for looking inside and touring the piece, with some type of donation protocol where the proceeds are distributed among the art teachers of the area to purchase needed supplies for the art classes. If this is possible, it will be a win-win approach for all involved. Watch this one folks, as it is sure to generate a lot of talk as it nears completion, and certainly when it is displayed. To follow the progress, simply click on the link labeled Picasa to the right. It is automatically updated every time I add pictures and there are descriptions and comments. What fun! Enjoy!
