I created this painting in honor of the centennial anniversary of the National Parks Service. Blue Wash Mesa is located in the Petrified Forest National Park in northeastern Arizona. A surreal landscape that is both alien and familiar, the wash is a place where time has slowed to a point that eons can be observed as they erode into the future. This painting is a representation of my experience there and an attempt to depict the emotional memory of my presence there.
