Worlds Turning

Tali & Royce

Shadows are extensions of our bodies and our experiences. Unlike our physical nature, our shadows interact silently and gently with their environment. Worlds Turning implies that interactions can be as fascinating as they are beautiful; morphing into new shapes while turning back on themselves. Three-dimensional figures representing people, cultures, ideas and countries from around the world cast overlapping shadows that move and mix peacefully. A composition of layers; shadows constantly changing shapes and values, rotating side by side with contrasting languages, conversation and, music combined in dialogue, add dimension to understanding. We might not know the language or completely understand a culture, but by listening and observing we can find a place to be engaged deeply enough to comprehend what is unknown to us. Hand tinted dry point etchings will be available at the venue. Contact us or the Richard App Pop-Up Gallery in the City Water Building during ArtPrize.
